Record Month?

by Tim Rees on February 10th, 2009

After a couple of flat months we’re back on our steep upward trend again. We’ve had a 35% sales growth this month compared to the same period last month. This is rather good timing as it’s the shortest month and we are just days away from substantially increasing our marketing spend.

Next month I intend to roll out new features which should work well with any increase in traffic to fuel growth further. Additional mailing will be targeting both new members conversion rates, and paying members retention. We will be promoting several new sites, which by being completely in-house we can do in a way which provides extra value to our members, and hopefully in the long run a better bottom line for us.

It is definitely onwards and upwards with February set to be another record month.

Hi, I have taken your example and joined both your old employer and whitelabel.

My question is – What percentage of your sites are adult dating vs. non adult?

And do you market them differently?

  2. Congratulations – I hope either, preferably both will be profitable for you.

My advice to you now would be try no too spread yourself too thin, it\’s very easy to be tempted in to trying lots of differently targeted sites on different platforms. Unless you already know exactly how you will be marketing each and have the resources to do so will restrict the potential of focusing your efforts. If you have a budget then this will do much better spent in one place.

If you find a formula that works, then by all means try to replicate it. I have done this with some success, but like most I have always had sites which out perform the rest.

Adult dating vs. dating: It\’s no secret most white label partners run and see best results with \”adult dating\” sites. There is a void between the two which some sites are filling very well now.

Marketing: Regardless of what type of site you run your goal is to send it targeted traffic. Your sites target audience will dictate to an extent what sources you can get traffic from and what marketing will be suitable. PPC, link building, PR, word of mouth… these are all methods which might work.

My own preference is to use methods you can measure, then it\’s just a case of trial and error. Like any business, if this is something you will be working on yourself, then your own time is free, use it to try to spread the word of your amazing site online.

  3. A great and informative response. The bit of gold was the idea that your traffic sources will change based on the niche you are in. One sizes does not fit all.

Yes, it is that passionate/sexy ,but not adult segment that i am going for, I think.

  4. Sounds to me like you are on the right lines. Best of luck!
